Castles match vs Notre Dame School (Lingfield) Notre Dame gained revenge for their 6-2 defeat in March, 2001 with a comprehensive victory. For many players the games were close, but greater age combined with increased experience meant that Notre Dame converted more chances tha Castles players did. In particular, Kyle was unfortunate loose on time in when trying to win a drawn Rook vs pawn ending, Richard was lucky to win on time when in a lost rook ending. Keith was winning when he blundered away his queen. Joshua was checkmated in a level position, Max had the better of a rook ending but was gradually overcome. Ehsan won a difficult rook ending, and James got a checkmate against the castled king.
